I have a Toshiba Portege ultrabook (no discs) that has been locked by ransomeware for sometime now. I guess I need to know so that I can do the correct program to remove this infection, but I cannot do anything until the virus is gone. Can I determine this somehow from the Windows stickers on the back of the machine?

You use the version which is on the clean computer you are using, so if the clean computer is 32 bit then you use the 32 bit version and visa versa.

You need to run the program to create a bootable USB, just transferring the file to a flash drive will not work as far as I know.

You can create a topic here and people will be able to help you better using other tools which do not need to be run on a clean computer first.
