Hello, I am having trouble with my work computer performing very slowly. programs will constantly stop responding at any given time and I am often unable to work for more than 45 minutes at a time without having a problem. Programs will terminate and I've even had the computer shut down randomly before. Is there any way that I can find assistance in identifying these viruses and removing them? My boss has not approved any type of virus removal allowance and has decided that the program 'spybot; search and destroy' is the only protection our computer system needs, however, we are unable to perform multiple tasks with these viruses slowing our computer down. Please Help?

Thank you,

Candice

Also, Just a bit of information about the computer. It is windows 7 64 bit. I can't remove any information from the computer as far as saved files or anything so I would need assistance working around that.

Download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
    Checkmark the following checkboxes:
    Flush DNS
    Report IE Proxy Settings
    Reset IE Proxy Settings
    Report FF Proxy Settings
    Reset FF Proxy Settings
    List content of Hosts
    List IP configuration
    List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
    List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.
Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.

I have a friend who was in a similar situation as you describe

--- "we are unable to perform multiple tasks with these viruses slowing our computer down"

------ What does your boss say about the computers poor performance?

I'd recommend you run the Microsoft Windows Malicious Program Removal Tool. The description is here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890830

--- Click on the Start Orb, in the Search Programs and Files search box, type MRT and run it

--- If it reports any infections, show it to your boss

--- Whether or not there are any results at this time, more recommendations should be brought up but it has a lot to do with your bosses’ decision

--- I’d like to recommend you run Malwarebytes 2.0 Free also but again that’s dependent on your bosses’ decision

--- If he's willing to allow you, go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/

I hope we'll be able to get the computer in good into a well maintained and security  it should be in
