How to plug in a monitor to run simotanus desktops on my laptop

basically i see the dual screen function.
 
i wanna plug a external monitor into my latop and at the same time use my laptop to be on my webcam and use the other side of windows to play skyrim?
 
is this possible? or am going out on a lim here?

It may or may not be possible.  Games frequently cause issues with using other screens.  Normally if you can play it in Windowed mode you can do what you're looking to do.  Currently I have Firefox on my left screen, World of Warcraft on the middle, and Monty Python's Meaning of Life on the right.

 

Connect the monitor and go into your display properties by right clicking a blank area on your desktop and select to Extend your desktop.  Select a display to be your main display.
