I'll been cleaning up this machine but I can't figure out why I can't run Malwarebytes. It starts up and then a few seconds later, a window pops up and says that Malwarebytes cannot continue running and shuts down. The desktop seems to run fine except for this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Moved topic from Windows 7 to the more appropriate forum.~ Animal

I uninstalled it and then, reinstalled it with the same results. I attached a screenshot of the window that appeared soon after I tried to run it again.

Please run ....:

Please download and runRKill by Grinler.
A black DOS box will appear for a short time and then disappear.
This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
At most the tool will usually run for about 2 minutes
Please Copy / Paste the small log back here.

NOTE....there is a GOOD review of Rkill underneath the download link....Read it carefully....especially the section about RENAMING the filename...it can help get past the Malwares action of terminating your attempts......

Important: Do not reboot your computer until you complete the next step.

Then attempt to run MalwareBytes again

I think it would be prudent at this stage to take this problem to the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs area.

Please follow the instructions in the Preparation Guide For Requesting Help  starting at Step #6.

When you have done that, start a new topic and post the required logs to  Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs   forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team Experts.

NOTE :If you are unable to complete any step, please just post the topic and leave a good description of your problems

ALSO....

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible.  I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Usually when a computer is infected with malware there will be indications (signs of infection) something is wrong.

Since you say everything is fine and the issue is only with Malwarebytes....for any issues with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 the development team recommend you start a new topic in the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help Forum and report them there.
