Hi

Wondered whether someone could help me with downloading the drivers to get wireless internet connection on dell inspiron 1545 laptop. I have recently fitted a new hard drive and re installed vista windows 64 os. Have downloaded the drivers and software from the dell website in the correct order and everything seems to be working excepts for the internet wireless connection. have downloaded all the drivers except for one which appeared to be for 1515 dell. When running wizard installation for wireless connection it stated the adapters were not detected.

Thanks

Get the service tag from the bottom of your laptop (7 digit code) and go here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/ProductSelector

Enter your service tag and then select your operating system. The wireless driver should be under network drivers. If you give me the service tag and operating system + type 32bit or 64bit, I can send you to the exact page.

If the wireless card has been repalced, go to device manager> right click on computer, select properties, click on device manager (top left corner)

In device manager, if there is anything with a yellow ! or ? right click on the device and click properties, then click the details tab, in the drop down menu there, click hardware id's right click on the top id and click copy, paste that here.

Example: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8178&SUBSYS_84B61043&REV_01

That is the hardware id for my wireless card.

Highlight the device id by left clicking on it one time, then right click and select copy (left click on copy), then paste that code here. I will look on dells website.

I have also tried the service tag which is not working. Double check that all of those characters are correct. I tried a few variations of the last character which may be 1 or I(i) with no luck. Device manager hardware id may be the only way. I am still looking on dells website.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. In networker controller properties it says drivers for this device are not installed code 28. Hardware ids are listed as follows
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_000C1028@REV_01
Then the next is the same with ending different at last underscore _000C1028
Then the last two the first parts are the same as the first one then both have _4315&CC then one ends with _028000 and the last ends with _0280
Thanks

Try this link: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=4KK11

Click the download link and run the download or save it and then run it. It appears you have the dell 1397 halfmini wireless card.
