I just got a new computer and it came with all kinds of malware, adware, Trojans, etc. I followed a thread on this web site and ran TDSS Killer, RKill, Malware Bytes, Hitman Pro, Rogue Killer, AdwCleaner, Junkware Removal Tool, ESET Online Scanner, and EMSISOFT Emergency Kit and I got most of it removed. But Hitman Pro constantly is coming up with Proxy server on this computer, twice. I repair the servers as it suggests and it still comes up in the next scan. I tried running HiJackThis and when I click scan it says

For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, HiJackThis may NOT be able to fix this.

If that happens, you need to edit the file yourself. To do this, click Start, Run and type:

           notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

and press Enter. Fine the line(s) HiJackThis reports and delete them. Save the file as 'hosts' (with quotes), and reboot.

I tried this and I don't see any line like this but at the top it says "This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows."

I'm not sure what to do from this point and my computer still seems to boot up kind of slow for a new computer. Please help and thanks in advance.

If I had just gotten a PC this messed up, and especially since I don't have any personal data on it, I would just nuke it by doing a clean install of the OS.

It came with Windows 8.1 on it and I didn't see a disk for it in there. How can I redownload it without having to pay for it?

Or we should get a deeper look. Please follow this Preparation Guide, do steps 6,7 and 8 and post in a new topic.
Let me know if all went well.

There should be a Recovery partition on the HDD. Find the make and model of the PC and use the documentation that came with the PC to determine how to do a Recovery. If you don't have any manuals, then you'll need access to another PC so you can Google it.

Your choice... go with the malware removal guys (they are very good!), or just nuke it.
