I have Windows 8 installed with tiles on my Samsung laptop.  I want to use the windows snip it tool and it states on the bleeping computer site that it is part of window 8 and you start it by clicking on the windows icon to open the start window.  I don't seem to have the windows icon and am wondering if someone is able to help me find it, or explain it's absence.

Welcome,

Have you put your cursor in the bottom left hand corner of the screen to see if it's hiding there?

To open the snipping tool, just get to the start screen (with the tiles) and start typing:

snipping tool

It will show up in the list in the upper right quadrant of the screen, then just click on it.

Have a great day!

Thank you for the two replies.  All I had to do was to start typing on the tiles screen and up it came.  No luck with hovering in the left hand bottom corner for window though but all up and going with snip it.  Thanks again. :bananas:
