Hello, i've had my windows 7 Toshiba Satellite since 2010 and i never had any issues, or viruses or any errors until 2 months ago.

I was trying to restore my computer to a different time because i accidentally deleted a file from my camera. Anyways, i had a few restore points available so i tried to restore all of them but i got and error message saying it did not completed ( i forgot what it was) i ended up deleting the restore points while i was trying to fix it. And now when i try to create a restore point this is the message i keep getting:  The restore point could not be created for the following reason: The specified object was not found. (0x80042308). I've searched and searched and although there are other posts with the same error, none of them seem to have ever resolved it. I think i've tried everything suggested, there are no errors when i do the chkdsk. I tried turning the system protection off, i've tried going on safe mode, i turned off my antivirus Webroot, Windows Defender, Malwarebytes.

There seems to be another thing going on too and i think it's caused by the same error, my computer doesn't power off if my battery dies, instead it will resume my session as soon as i plugged in the charger, but now if it dies and i plug in the charger it wont resume on my last session, i have to power it off instead because  i guess it isn't able to save and restore my last session anymore.

Please help me fix this issue :( i will try my best to provide any information if needed and will try everything suggested.

Thanks!

Hello,

Export CBS folder

  • Click the Start button StartButton_16x16.gif then click Computer.
  • Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  • Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  • Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  • Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
  • Attach this to your next post please.

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next please post please upload via Dropbox or ge.tt

I tried to create a restore point and the error message still pops up. It won't even create the automatic restore points anymore, since April.
