Hello,

Go to start > run and type cmd
A dos Window will appear.
Type next in the dos window: netsh winsock reset
hit enter.

This should solve your broken connection.

Reboot.

You have several different infections present...

* Download AlcanShorty from here.
  • Click the download button below and agree to download the fix.
  • Download Alcanshorty to your desktop.
  • DoubleClick alcanshorty_en.exe and click install
  • This will create a new folder on your desktop called alcanshorty_en
  • Open that folder and doubleclick Run.bat
  • Once the fix starts, your icons and desktop will disappear, this is normal.
Make sure you have a working internet connection. In case your firewall gives an alert, don't block it,
because alcanshorty needs to download some additional files to let the tool run properly.
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to popup and press OK.
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
-------------------

* Download Combofix.zip
Unzip it to its own folder.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly.
Open the Combofix folder and doubleclick combo.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.
When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt. Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

Ok i did as you said ( netsh winsock reset) the computer now say connected on the local area connection but when i try any browser ( FFox or IE) none of them work. cant find tha page. i tried resetting the rouster few time and the pc still nothing. i have ip, mac, and dns also i look like i can send out but no receive package. so i tried the (AlcanShorty) but since they is no internet connection i didn't work because i couldn't download the file there. i then ran the combofix and here is the log file:

Hello,

Ok i did as you said ( netsh winsock reset) the computer now say connected on the local area connection but when i try any browser ( FFox or IE) none of them work. cant find tha page. i tried resetting the rouster few time and the pc still nothing. i have ip, mac, and dns also i look like i can send out but no receive package

Normally if you only performed the step with "netsh winsock reset" and then rebooted, it should be fixed, since XP SP2 has that option to restore it with that command. Your LSP was broken before and above command fixed it. So I have no idea what other things you performed to get the connection back, besides resetting the router, but you should take another look at your settings there, maybe you misconfigured something in there etc..
Anyway, we'll look at that later, because as long as malware is still present, we can't properly restore other things. In a meanwhile this prevents more malware being installed.

* Open hijackthis, click 'config' (bottom right)
Choose the tab 'misc Tools' on top.
Choose 'delete a file on reboot'
In the field, copy and paste next:

C:\WINDOWS\wmapsrvs.exe

Click open.
Hijackthis will tell you that this file will be deleted on next reboot and if you want to reboot now. Click Yes/ok
Your system should reboot now.

After reboot,

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O23 - Service: Microsoft WMI Performance Adapter AddOn (WMIPerAddOn) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\wmapsrvs.exe

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

* Go to start > run and copy and paste next commands in the field:

sc delete "Network Monitor" Hit enter

sc delete WMIPerAddOn Hit enter

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

If you're having problems with deleting some in normal mode, try it in safe mode.

Please hide your hidden files and folders afterwards again, because above instructions to set your system to show all files, unhide legit files and folders as well.
And I don't want you to delete them because they may look suspicious. To hide them again, just perform the above instructions in the opposite way.

Reboot and post a new hijackthislog in your next reply.

Hi, not sure what happened it, but I guess you do have internet connection, because you got reinfected again.

We have to start all over unfortunately...

I can't stress enough how important it is you perform everything in the right order without missing any step!!!!
It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.

* Please set your system to show all files;

Click OK.

I already asked you this before, but I am not sure if you made them visible, because I see still some hidden files present I asked you to delete manually previously.

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.
  • Close all windows before continuing.
  • Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 1 minute. Click OK
  • (If Look2Me-Destroyer does not reopen automatically, reboot and try again.)
  • When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
  • You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
  • When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Your computer will then shutdown.
  • Turn your computer back on.
If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/MSWINSCK.OCX

    • Install background guard

  • Launch ewido by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.

* Please set your system to show all files;

Ok, success, and again, please perform this in the right order, because if you don't, you'll loose your internet connection again.
But for that, in case that happens again, just copy and paste next command again in start > run: netsh winsock reset and reboot afterwards!!!!!

Only perform this when you don't have an internet connection after performing all my steps (so when back in normal mode, because in safe mode, you have to choose without networking support, which means no internet)

now one last thing what malware or spyware do you recommend

I don't recommend you any malware or spyware, but rather a malware and spyware-remover

Take a look in my signature, there you'll find some scanners I recommend. :flowers:

Glad I could help.

To keep this clean in the future, I would suggest the following things:

Install Spywareblaster
SpywareBlaster doesn`t scan and clean for so-called spyware, but prevents it from being installed in the first place. It blocks the popular spyware ActiveX controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage.

* Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.
* Don't click on links inside popups.
* Don't click on links in spam messages claiming to offer anti-spyware software; because most of these so called removers ARE spyware.
* Download free software only from sites you know and trust. Because a lot of free software can bundle other software, including spyware.

Let your antispywarescanner(s) scan frequently and don't forget to update before.

And I do suggest you perform an online virusscan once in a while. (Housecall and/or Bitdefender). Because what one virusscanner can't find another one maybe can.
Also make sure that your virusscanner, the one that is installed on your system is always up to date!

Make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
