I have a Dell Studio Desktop 540 running Windows 7 Home Premium.  Recently, I had the pc run a memory diagnostic and now each time it boots up the memory diagnostic tool shows up too.  I have to go in to Process Explorer and kill it to make it go away.  Any idea how I can stop this from starting up each time at boot?

Do not remove or disable it from msconfig.

Use a program like Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel to remove it from the startup list.

If you are using the Windows 7 memory diagnostic tool you can stop it from starting by doing the following.

Click on the Start orb, then type cmd in the Search programs and files.

cmd will appear in the results, right click on it and choose Run as administrator.

This will open the Elevated Command Prompt.  Copy and paste the following command and then press Enter.

bcdedit /bootsequence {memdiag} /remove

If this is not what you are using we will need to know specifically which program you are using.  No matter which one it is, you can open Programs and Features in the Control Panel and uninstall it from there.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
