I hope I am not posting this in the wrong forum. Long story short, I've been having problems with my Alienware M17xR4 ever since I got it. he Catalyst control center stops working at times and I have no idea what causes it. After it stops working, I have to uninstall my drivers, and then reinstall the drivers. When I restart my computer after reinstalling them, I either get a black screen that would sometimes show a cursor when I move my mouse, or I get a black screen that flashes gray and does that indefinitely. Everytime something like this happens, I have to refresh my computer. My computer has been having this specific issue around 2 and a half months ago. I even sent my computer in for repairs. Nothing seems to be working and there seems to be no one that knows what to do. They claimed they replaced my video card but I'm not sure whether or not they did.

I have a dual core - An AMD Radeon HD 7970M and an Intel® HD Graphics 4000(Or at least I'm suppose to). I was looking in Dxdiag and I was thinking the display section looked a little off, but I'm not 100% sure.

It does not show that I have 2 drivers, although I'm not sure whether or not it is supposed to. The card name shows the Intel card, but the manufacturer is shown as AMD. The chip type is also shown as the Intel. Could this be why my computer seems to be crashing every time I install my AMD driver? Would appreciate some help, thanks!

This is a hardware issue, most definitely.

If they claim to have replaced the GPU, then your problem could originate from your HDD/SSD or RAM.

Have you tried reformatting, so as to wipe any software/OS problems causing this issue?

Alienware laptops are well-known to have lots of hardware issues from the factory. I would suggest not buying one again.
