What language are these security programs wrote in?

What language are OTL, DDS, Combofix and HijackThis wrote in? Furthermore what language are security programs generally wrote in?

Hijack This is written in Visual Basic 6. http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/
OTL is written in Delphi.
ComboFix and DDS are written in many languages; some C, some C++, some batch scripts, etc.
