I have had Malwarebytes free version on this computer for several years. I usually update it when I get ready to use it to scan. Lately, when I start to update the program, it stalls and says my license has expired.  How can a free version of this software, advertised by the producer suddenly determine that my license is no good?  There is a current version that has a 14 day free trial but this is not what I have been using.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd try an uninstall then a fresh reinstall. Be sure to untick the box for the trial pro version. Post back with results.

I never make the same mistake twice....I always make it 5 or 6 times just to be sure!

Please follow the steps outlined in the link below.

This will ensure the corrupt copy you have is totally uninstalled.

Then reinstall.

Please download your fresh copy from  HERE

Hello pops1:

@saw101 has very accurately given you the official download URL for mbam-setup-2.0.2.1012.exe, the current installer for MBAM2.

However, since you have related an existing issue with your current install, a MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x is perhaps the better choice where @saw101's above URL is part and parcel of the whole process.

HTH :)

All viruses are malware but not all malware are viruses and if the malware doesn't self replicate it just isn't a virus.

The free version of Malwarebytes did not require a license so I am confused by that statement.
