Ok well i got rid of it once but now its back after a month or so. Soooooo when i start up my computer and click my name or anybody else's it starts up normal but as soon as the start button appears a black box comes up and says something about shutdown then random numbers (had a pic but got rid of it because it was gone).

Now in more detail. When it pops up i can click the close box in the upper right and if i do it fast enough it won't shut down but if i'm not fast enough it will shutdown and it gets really annoying when it happens four or five times in a row.

Last time is was just a DLL left over from a uninstalled program but I checked every thing i uninstalled and there's nothing left of them all. So i'm here for your guy's help cause last time i had this stupid thing it lasted a good 5 months.

I twould really help if you could provide us with the exact error message you are getting in the black box (including the random numbers), since this would narrow down the possible solutions to your problem.

John

Go into safe mode and try using "Last known good configuration".

Can you get in using safe mode without the box showing up?

This looks similar to something I have on my computer that I did intentionally. After reading the Windows XP Tweak guide I created a shortcut on my desktop that runs the shutdown command when I open it. (See The Properties)

Maybe something like that got stuck in your startup folder?

Can you tell us exactly what you have done so far - both this time and previously?

Oh.....UM...... well I have ran a registry cleaner, stopzilla, spyware doctor, Xoftspy, Looked for DLL all by themselves because thats what was wrong last time, and wonder around aimlessy in System 32.

What really helped was one time i clicked the cmd.exe and it said the exact location where the file was. Like some type of error came up and it said a DLL so i went and deleted it but it doesn't do it this time.

Sorry for the bad english if you think it was bad.
