Computer selects something real fast on startup

I restarted my computer and when I hit f12 to boot from a disk it doesn't give me a chance to highlight and click anything, it does it so fast that I can't even have the time to move down to item I wanna boot.

Have you tried from safe mode. We do not know your Operating System.

On this computer I have lubuntu on a disk so I run the OS off that, it's not installed on my computer.
