here's an odd one for you.

my laptop screen has tiny little insects crawling on the screen, usually only noticeable on a white background, they are about the size of a pinhead and can barely be seen and cannot be seen if I take off my glasses. I can squish them and it leaves a tiny red splat on my screen but then I notice another later. what are these and how do I deal with them?

They are probably coming from plants in your house.  The wife has some plants that with this issue.  She got a couple of Butterworts to take care of them.
