Hi I'm new to this forum.  I have an HP Pavillion with Windows 8.  My computer turns on and everything works fine but I can not connect to the internet anymore.  I recently (within the past 2 weeks) got AVG for my computer because I was having trouble logging on to my work email. I only have the free trial version. Then I couldn't use IE or Firefox, but Google was working fine.  Then I couldn't use Google anymore either. I tried to roll my computer back to an earlier date but every time I try it fails to do it.  I don't know how to fix this issue so I can connect to the internet again.  Maybe I have a virus?  Any suggestions, ideas?

Edit: Moved topic from Windows 8 to the more appropriate forum.~ Animal

Welcome,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like you have been infected. All of the failures seem to indicate that the infection is trying to protect itself.

To get you into a place where you can receive trained assistance I'm going to ask a moderator to move your message into another forum. Once there you will find instructions on what to do and how to do it.

Keep us posted
