Earlier today I was sending a message to a friend and suddenly this error popped up "The active directory domain services is currently unavailable", is this normal? Also, what caused it? I think I might have accidentally pressed one of Windows' shortcuts but which one is it?

Welcome,

What is your configuration? Are you on a network or using VPN into a network?

Keep us posted

What do you mean by my configuration? And no, I was NOT using a VPN, I was on my wireless network as usual.

Active directory runs from a server. I was trying to find out if you are on a big enough network to have an active directory. Were / are you experiencing any connection problems with the Internet?

If you mean any disconnections then no, or maybe just once.

OK, my best guess is as you suspected, the accidental pressing of an incorrect key. I would not expect 'active directory domain services' to be anywhere near a home network. I'm also going to guess that if you don't do it again, it won't do it again. I also doubt that any harm was done.

So, til you need us again,

Do you know what the shortcut might be? Also, I am on my home wireless network.

I'm not sure what the shortcut might be but you might get a clue here
