Excuse me if I am not following protocol, it has been ages since I've been here. Just kindly point me in the right direction. On my room mate's brand new Windows 8 computer. First time on Windows 8 & I am completely lost. I have not touched it to do a thing about the tons of popups and underlined words that make me feel as thought there's adware or worse on the system. I figured it best to start here. Just clicking in this field to type brought up about 3 popups. Please help.

That's just normal adware, it shouldn't harm you unless it links you to a phishing site.

Just run a threat scan with Malwarebytes, it removed a lot of mine in a few seconds.
