After deleting one of my sites off my host and also on GoDaddy, when I wanted to check the address to make sure there are no remnants of the site, I get this when going to:

http://www.thefreeweb.org
< the deleted freeware site,

what I get is a string starting with this address
http://www.searchpagefix.com
and it includes the deleted site. I have done everything under the sun and yet ., it is still there . I deleted all my browsers [but of course not IE ] and went through my computer and I cannot find the conduit engine or the delta engine both being pointed as blame on the web. I have downloaded and used Norton searchpagefix  and that did not work either. I used all the cleaning tools provided to me from a previous post on here regarding slow startup on win7

Can someone please direct me to a fix? I am going crazy LOL

Hi KJRose,

To start please try the following:

  • Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
  • Double-click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
  • After reviewing the log, click on the Clean button.
  • Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
  • Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
  • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.

Hello KJRose,

I have removed the HiJack This log you posted for 2 reasons.  One:  Such logs are analyzed only in the specialized log forum where you get one-on-one assistance.  Two:  We rarely use HiJack This any more for a variety of reasons.  We use other tools instead in the log forum.

http://www.thefreeweb.org

When I try to go to this site, all I see is a blank page.

http://www.searchpagefix.com

And when I go to the other site, all I get is this, not the blank page.

http://www.searchpagefix.com/

So tell us in more detail, what is it you're expecting to see?

It is so persistant .. I do apolgize for posting those results and will not offend you any more.. It is just that truthfully I just do not know what to do now, as I have followed all the advice from a windows 7 starup slow that I posted here in the win7 forum, with programs downloaded from your forum. I deleted everything associated with Iphone on my computer ,aside from bonjour. Can I delete that?

Well don't click on anything else and searchpagefix.com is considered spyware. I don't have to go to

http://www.thefreeweb.org
it happens on all addresses that are vacated. It is just my computer is the only one in the house that does not go to Godaddy avail. domains.

Would you also run ESET...

ESET.
  • Hold down Control and click on this link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
  • Click the esetonlinebtn.png button.
  • For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
  • Click on esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the esetsmartinstaller_enu.png icon on your desktop.
  • Check "YES, I accept the Terms of Use."
  • Click the Start button.
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Under scan settings, check "Scan Archives" and "Remove found threats"
  • Click Advanced settings and select the following:
  • Scan potentially unwanted applications
  • Scan for potentially unsafe applications
  • Enable Anti-Stealth technology
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, click List Threats
  • Click Export, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  • Click the Back button.
  • Click the Finish button.
  • NOTE:Sometimes if ESET finds no infections it will not create a log.

I used that and it ran clear so I downloaded and ran Hitman Pro and it found several items many in Flash and  removed them. I also cleaned my browsers and restored them to original. Still when on the yahoo server search I get that. Oh well ... I do not think it is in my system but I wonder if my host is infected... How would I search for PUP in hosts?

We can look at the Hosts with this.

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
[list]
  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
  • Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.
Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.

Anything that you can do to keep Yahoo software off your computer....the better. There has been several recent incidents of malware incidents related to either Yahoo software, or the email service/client. Unless you're locked into a service, stay away.

I'm bringing this up because of your content in Post #9 above.

Hope that your new install works out fine.  :thumbup2:

Hi -

My 2 cents worth is fairly basic, but needed

You have AdwCleaner[S8].txt - [1514 octets] - [07/07/2014 09:37:14] as the last entry.

I have found that AdwCleaner holds all items in Quarantine and must be emptied at times -

I do it each time and only trust AdwCleaner[S0] as the true result.

Open AdwCleaner and hit Uninstall, as this will empty quarantine and fully uninstall the program.

Then you can install the latest version as needed .......

Regards -

noknojon, thanks for the AdwCleaner advise!  :thumbup2:

I run it monthly as maintenance, didn't realize the Quarantine had to be emptied.....no wonder it finds the same few things every time, there are 13 log files.

Will do as you state ASAP!

EDIT: That was Fast! No more AdwCleaner folder.

Ok after running this.. I have to explain that I had used a valid windows 7 disc, that you had to have a valid copy of windows 7 on your system. It mirrored my computer and it took well over 2 hours to copy and replace what it could. After I ran Mini toolbox I found a lot of errors and I do not know what to do.. I do not have any illegal things on my computer I just had dropped my freeware site after three years and I was partnered with freewarefiles.com  I am wondering what's up since I have not installed anything at all on here from when I re installed my computer 2 weeks ago.I removed firefox yesterday because it does not read html5 and I have a free game site that I put games in html5 format for smartphones.

Cat I have att Uverse. I do not use their start page I use google chrome start and my mail I bring to my desktop client. I have been running around with att uverse for over a year with their pitiful upload speeds.

here is the results...
