About a month ago, I began to have issues connecting to certain websites. I first noticed this when I tried to download Java. I could connect to the main Java page, but when I tried to get to the actual download page itself, I got the following message:

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at javadl.sun.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I have had similar issues on CBS, ABC7, and Steam (tried to reinstall the client because it wasn't behaving properly, and when I tried to reinstall, I got the above message.)

No other computer on my network has trouble connecting to these sites. I have tried to connect using Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Chrome, and get a similar error every time. I have tried a system restore, resetting Firefox, disabling firewalls, clearing caches, and a handful of other tricks, all to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Could be several issues -- you may need to flush your DNS cache, your HOSTS file might be corrupt, or your firewall settings are off.
