The installation process went relatively smoothly, but every time I try to print something, nothing happens; I just get some pop-up that says "printing (not responding)" and "progress preparing..."

The manual isn't much help, it basically just says that if you're having problems you should disconnect the USB cable, reboot and reinstall. I tried that, but wasn't able to get very far in the reinstallation process. I got a pop up that said to connect the USB cable, which I did, but then it wouldn't take me to the next step (during the first installation, after I got this prompt and connected the cable It took me to the next screen.) I'm suppose that it may be a hardware problem with the USB cable being defective, but it's a brand new cable and it worked fine during the installation, so I doubt it's that.

In case it matters, the button on the printer that's supposed to be lit to indicate that it's on is not lit all the time: it's blinking on and off. That might indicate something is amiss, but I don't know.

TIA for any help anyone can give.

OK, I farted around with it a little more and it turns out I didn't take the tape off the cartridges and had the computer set for some other type of printer. Please disregard.
