Good afternoon everyone.

ON of our computers at "The Job" has been running very slow. When I restart, on shutdown the screen flashes a few times and throws up what appears to be ads I have never seen before, usually of a random porn site.

Once the PC restarts we get a corrupted recycling bin error, and it asks if I would like to empty the bin. regardless if It is empty or not.

Here are the specifics.

HP p2-1107

Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I ran Rkill everything came back no malware, no issues with registry but in miscellaneous checks found

ALERT: ZEROACCESS rootkit symptoms found!

I ran Malwarebytes with rootkits selected and its still there...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its the big boss' machine, and I don't like him lingering outside the safe confines of his own office...

Try booting to Safe Mode and running Malwarebytes again.  Also do a full system scan with your antivirus while in Safe Mode.

Good luck.

Everyone with a computer should back his system up to an external hard drive regularly.

Hello .. That reply won't help.
What you have is a ZeroAccess rootkit and it needs removal.

Please follow this Preparation Guide, do steps 6,7 and 8 and post in a new topic.
Let me know if all went well.

boopme.. I did that but dds only created an attach.txt file which I posted as per the prep link with no responses almost 24 hours later. It did not create a dds.txt file for me to post.. 73 views and not one response. I've had great feedback from this site in the past.. I guess its back to google.. Thanks for your time
