Good afternoon,

So I my sister has an issue with her computer.  She tried to perform Dell Factory Image Restore, but her computer was plugged into an outlet that could be turned off with the light switch.  When she turned the light switch off, the computer shut off during the process.  The computer wouldn't turn on and she brought it in to get it fixed.  Now, the screen turns black for 2-3 seconds then comes back on.  What is the problem?

Thank you for the help :)

Hard shutdowns/sudden losses of power...are known to possibly damage system files.  I would try a startup repair.

Thank you for replying, I tried a start-up repair, but it didn't fix anything.

When I go into the start-up repair menu, the Dell Factory Reset is not available for me anymore.

I don't want to take it in because we already brought it in somewhere.

What is the model of this Dell?

When you state that your sister tried to perform a Dell Factory Image Restore, are you referring to using the recovery partition to reinstall the operating system?

I'll check when I get home, but yes that's what she tried.
