I noticed these introductions here don't get a lot of attention, ludicrously worded spam on the other hand usually gets far more attention, usually from the staff before they hit delete ;)

Anyway I'm Jeff and I work currently as an independent malware analyst, testing and reverse engineering malware and other badware. Have been recommended to come over to BC so here I am, better late than never and hoping to make myself useful!

If you've managed to read this line, then thankfully this thread hasn't been "nuked on site", the word "Introduction" in the title and the unusual price tag $900 for 'free shoes'?! ... should have been enough to differentiate this 'fake spam' from the real thing and with a bit of luck you'll by now have realised by the odd and complex way I have worded this post that I am very much a human, and the lack of links owing to the fact that there are in fact "no free $900 shoes", or indeed the phishing attacks and viruses that come with them at no extra cost... Just a genuine leather introduction from someone trying to be a little different (and possibly failing in spectacular fashion).

Cheers for reading,

Jeff

Hi Jeff, and welcome to BleepingComputer! :)

I have to say that seeing the title made me jump to this topic, and by the time I finished reading it I was laughing so hard that I completely forgot the disappointment that there were actually no "free shoes", so I'd say you succeeded in spectacular fashion! :lmao:

regards, Elise

No free shoes??? I had my hopes up and everything. I've always wanted $900 shoes. . .

I should ban you for false advertising!

But seriously, :welcome: to BC!

Thank you both for such a warm welcome and please accept my apologies for the lack of free shoes, if only I had a 3D printer I would mail you both a pair to show my gratitude for not banning me :D

Hang on, $900 3D printed shoes? Seriously either this is a complete scam or I own some sort of undercover high class fashion outlet (probably explains why you've never heard of it). It's the one that all the undercover secret agents buy their shoes from, you know the ones that have a distinct taste in fashion and like to stand out from the crowd (the unemployed ones)...

I am upset. This is just another example of a lazy programer, Geez, Why do I have to type my email in the box? Couldn't you just give me a handy link that will download a nice app that will do all that for me?  http://www.westealyourcreditcarddetails.fu/botnet , I would click on that, Wouldn't everybody?

All this effort for free shoes.  And I bet they are not real leather.

:welcome:  to BC.

Please Sir, how can I make program,

OMG, When I was Mod on some of those Anti Yahoo sites, We used to get "coders" ( VB6 ) posting exactly that. They would claim that they wrote the code in VB6, Then ask how to compile into an exe. My question was " How did you code this Booter, Yet cant "make" it.

Also, If you want to embrace the Linux community, Source code and instructions on how to install your evilmalware would be nice for the novices.? Something like this.

This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY, COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF IMPORTANT DATA or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE (eg. sending thousands of Viagra spams to people accross the world).

Basic Installation

Before attempting to compile this virus make sure you have the correct version of glibc installed, and that your firewall rules are set to ‘allow everything’.

  1. Put the attachment into the appropriate directory eg. /usr/src.
  2. Type ‘tar xvzf evilmalware.tar.gz’ to extract the source files for this virus.
  3. ‘cd’ to the directory containing the virus' source code and type ‘./configure’ to configure the virus for your system. If you're using ‘csh’ on an old version of System V, you might need to type ‘sh ./configure’ instead to prevent ‘csh’ from trying to execute ‘configure’ itself.
  4. Type ‘make’ to compile the package. You may need to be logged in as root to do this.
  5. Optionally, type ‘make check_payable’ to run any self-tests that come with the virus, and send a large donation to an unnumbered Swiss bank account.
  6. Type ‘make install’ to install the virus and any spyware, trojans pornography, bleep enlargement adverts and DDoS attacks that come with it.
  7. You may now configure your preferred malware behaviour in /etc/evilmalware.conf.

^^ @NickAu1 ... Have just about stopped laughing now  :lmao:

No sooner had I read your anecdote about the 'coders' who say "Please Sir, how do I..." and what do you know I got a PM from one... "Please Sir, how do I encrypt Dark Comet server? Can you help me? I need to know"

My answer was a polite "Sorry but I can't help you that" whilst at the same time I was thinking..... Jeez, if only these were the people who wrote ransomware... "Thank you Sir I have written my encryption algorithm, it is very strong, how do I compile in vb.net please?" ... Are you on your personal computer? ... "Yes Sir, I do all my programming, internet browsing and file storage on this family computer".... Sure, click the green play button . . .  :oopsign:  "Sir please help me! My files are encrypted, I cannot access sir, please help me uncrypt! ... Sir please answer!" ..

She is? Would you be so kind as to ask Grinler to ask Blade to ask Myrti if I could have some free shoes as well? (I'd prefer the $900 ones but I'll settle for less)

HOW TO GET FREE SHOES

Elementary Rules of Spam

1. Important: Be sure it’s really spam.

Read the post, there should be multiple spelling errors and if nothing else, LOTS of things like exclamation points AND apostrophes AND question marks~ (read it carefully):

Example:

...AND the unusual price tag $900 for 'free shoes'?! ...

2. Descriptive phrases

This kind of wording helps ensure you have the best spam (and free shoes):

Example:

 Offset, on 28 Jun 2014 - 2:41 PM, said:

a genuine leather introduction

“Our best-ever genuine freest shoes’ are guranteed to look and feel like a genuine leather introduction for the finnest leather”

3. Weird modifying grammatical phrases

Look for wording like this:

“Upon receiving this free coupon, the free shoes will send you.”

Special Note:  This is not to say the free shoes will be SENT TO YOU…the free shoes will simply send you….into orbit or somewhere.

4. Procedural steps

Next, if you really want to get your free shoes, turn off your firewalls and antivirus stuff (which the spammer should also instruct you if they’re good) since when you click on the spam link, your protection programs will tell you to be more careful about downloading malicious crap to your computer by clicking on spam.

5. How to then get Help!!!

Finally, you’re gonna end up in the World Wide Web looking for solutions on how to fix your laptop and find BleepingComputer.com

Sincerely, Your friendly international spammer

ps. stolen wants 6 free shoes plz (5 pair)

Welcome to BC! that was a scream  :hello:

So you get a $900 pair for only $400

But as soon as they arrive, I seend you!

Best regard

Not bad in my opinion :P But next time you shouldn't call yourself myrti, it's too much of a genuine name. You should sign off like this:

Kindest Regards,

Myrti Carlson Smith James Ellis Ltd Dot Com

Also you forgot to say "Dear Sir" :( I'm offended at best :P

Ps. Stolen & myrti, still laughing, this thread is such fun! :D  :lmao:
