I have been looking through previous posts but cannot find the same problem. I wondered if anyone could shed some light?

I have an Acer Aspire D260 which was working perfectly. The screen started to flicker slightly on a few occasions recently then one night flickered and just switched off / died.

I've been searching the internet for answers, tried flashing the bios and nothing works. If you plug in the mains charger the charger light turns on and if you press the power button it flashes when you let go but does not boot, does not make a sound, nothing.

Any ideas or is it past help?

Many thanks in advance.

If you have no video and nothing else is working it sounds like there may be a problem with the internal power distribution. I'm not sure what voltage runs the graphics and the HDD but I'm going to guess that it's the same. With that missing it might be a new motherboard or if the unit is old enough a new laptop.
