Over the past two days Firefox has shown me ads in new tabs late at night without prompting, this is itself really odd because I use both NoScript and AdBlock. So because I'm paranoid and I've been lazy about updates for windows/plugins I go off to try and run them. When I tried to install a Sliverlight update it claims the update finished but the browser and online version check disagree, when I download and attempt to run the manual update it claims it is infact, up to date. Windows updates also won't download. After this I got very suspcious and ran an avast quick scan, nothing, check for odd browser objects, something involved with Classic Shell and a random BHO that shouldn't be there. After that I ran a MalwareBytes scan and it found nothing yet again. I installed what windows updates were already downloaded but now I'm iffy on restarting because I know if this is going to get worse, it's going to do it at bootup.
