- One system file "MWAC.SYS" causes a number of errors. Needs to be fixed. Then the BSOD could be history.

- With only 1 GB of memory installed and memory usage at 85% I am not surprised to see your system freeze up. I would install PcWinTech's Cleanmem. It's a free program that reduces memory usage. Or install more memory, you still have 2 free memory slots.

- DO NOT use that program.

- Is that green light a sign your Hard disk is working overtime ? Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to see which program is using LOTS of "processor" time. How many programs run upon start up ?

- When I see memory usage is high (>70%) then my first response is to recommend Cleanmem. Reducing memory usage means that Windows can put its performance enhancing "tricks" to better use. And let the program collapse the file cache as well.

- A excellent start for repairing your system is "Windows Repair"

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows-repair-all-in-one

Execute step 5, 2, 3 & 4 (in this sequence, follow the instructions provided) and report back.

MWAC.SYS is part of Malwarebytes.  Specifically it is the Malwarebytes Web Access Control.

I don't see Malwarebytes in the list of programs, so I'm guessing you had it installed at some time?  If this is the case then remnants need to be cleaned up.  This may require reinstalling it in order to remove it properly.

You only have 1GB of RAM (2 x 512MB).  You have four slots, I would suggest adding at least another 1GB of RAM, I would suggest 2 x 1GB if you wish to get this computer running up to speed.  Your operating system is a 32-bit version, so you will only be able to put a maximum amount of 3GB of RAM in it.

- Run the Malwarebytes removal tool.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware-cleanup-tool/

- Run "Windows Repair" as described above.

- Re-install Malwarebytes.

Try reinstalling the latest Malwarebytes and see if it corrects the problem. Run update and a quick scan just in case ans see if any infections are found for removal. Processes show you have installed Comodo and Magic Jack. Can you remove comodo remnants by add or remove programs including magic jack and see of any improvements with the freezing issues?

Please run sfc /scannow.

The instructions below are for Windows 7 but will work with Vista as well.

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces corrupted and incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Click on the Start orb and then type cmd in the Search programs and files box.

In the pane above the search box Programs will appear with cmd below it, right click on cmd and choose Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, enter the password, or click Allow.

A page similar to the one below will open.

commandprompt_zps212bc71a.png

Type in sfc /scannow and then press Enter to start the scan.  Please notice the space between sfc and the /scannow.

If the scan finds no integrity  problems in the first portion of the scan it should stop, to be sure that the scan has stopped wait five minutes, then type in exit and press Enter to stop the scan.

When the scan is finished please post the log of this scan.

To find sfc /scannow log, type cmd in the Search programs and files box.

cmd will appear above the search box under Apps., right click on it and choose Run as administrator, this will open the Elevated Command Prompt.  This will look simlare to the image above.

Copy and paste the following in the Search programs and files box, then press Enter.

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

This will place a new icon on the desktop titled sfcdetails.  Click on this to open the log, copy it and paste it in your topic.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
