Hello,

My Windows Explorer (note: NOT Internet Explorer) has recently started having problems. I can browse through files perfectly fine, but if an external application tries to open up a "Save as…" or "Open…" menu,  then nothing happens. Because of this, I can no longer attach files to my emails or decrypt my FreeOTFE volumes. How can this be fixed?

(Note: After running sfc /scannow, it told me that my shell32.dll was corrupted. This is because I have manually edited it. However, I am unable to change it back. Could this dll be the source of the problem? If so, how can I restore it?)

click start or winkey + r for windows 8 and type msconfig disable all microsoft services then restart and repeat except restart all microsoft services, that may work for fixing the windows explorer file not working

Does that include services created by my AV (Panda) and Firewall (Comodo)?

Never mind, I rebooted into Safe Mode with Command Prompt and was able to replace the shell32.dll.mui. This fixed the problem.
