Imagine you are stranded on a desert Island but you are allowed to have at least three items with you. What would they be?

Okay I'll start. The first thing I would like is a good set of books. I would also like a ball I suppose to kick around. The last thing I'd like is a group of people with me so we could figure out how to survive. A group of minds is better than one. Also that group of people would also have 3 things between them.

Anyway what about you?

A tent for shelter.

A fishing rod to catch fish.

And Miss Stolen (  because she's a great cook.)

@Stolen Don't blame me you keep posting those pics of yum yum's.

The OP lives in the UK time zone so he has obviously been listening to the Radio 4 programme 'Desert Island Discs'. I don't often listen to it, 'Just a Minute' in the 12 noon slot straight after it is  more to my taste, but, here, thanks to Wikipedia, are the rules -

You are allowed one luxury item but you can't have Stolen herself, possibly one BOX of her goodies, and I'm sorry, Nick, but that group of friends ? Not allowed unless stuffed - see the reference to John Cleese.

My own problem is you are given a copy of the bible, or equivalent work of faith, none of which would be of much interest to me. I wonder if I could swap it for Horowitz and Hill 'The art of electronics' ? Much more practical. After all, sand is  mostly silicon oxide, isn't it ?

After six months, call me a Marconi; after five years call me Samsung.

I actually remember being asked this question by an Open University teacher that used it to get a conversation going to get people used to a forum environment.

A pretty girl, sharp knife, Fishing pole and lifetime supply of cold beer.
How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
