I had the worst problem ever with a GMAIL account. Not only did the hackers change my GMAIL account password, but they setup 2-step verification so I can't get it back.    I don't care if I ever use this account again, but I want to close it so that when associates email this account they will get a bad address notification.

Does anyone have any advice?

Start here if you haven't already done this. If you can get the account back you can delete it if that's what you want to do.

I tried the accounts/recovery and because the hackers applied the two step authentication, it isn't working.   Of course I sent this to google, but they don't seem interested in helping.  No replies whatsoever.
