Hi everybody :)

I have been infected by a very tenacious and annoying adware called "ads by shop smart"

It places a little green icon and hyper links various words in my browser if my mouse touches one of these little green icons an ad pops up, very annoying!!! It seems to be most prevelant in my mozilla firefox browser.

I have run malwarebytes twice and twice removed stuff that it has found.

I have also run Adware cleaner which I downloaded here at BC and removed everything it found

I have also run Junkware removal tool and Combofix as well as a scan by my eset smart secuirity and its still there!! :smash:

I have looked in add/remove programs and find nothing there to uninstall either.

Usually the above steps sort any such like problems out one time.

But not this time :killcomp:

Please any help or advice will be much appreciated

Thanks

John :)

Hello -

Most of what you have done is usually not required.

Are the double-underlined words that you are referring to like the example provided in This topic (Post #1)?

If so, this is called in-text advertising and it is very common.
Kontera and Vibrant are two of the more popular advertising networks that provide in-text advertising and information services.

======= < This is a typical example of Underlining (without the pop up)

If this is your problem, >> See full post HERE or, please correct me and add more information
