Really Need Help With A Mac Book Pro

Hello, I really need help with this computer, to start with Im not Mac Literate at the moment im learning, My problem is that i deleted the operating system fro the computer, Rather than buy the original disk from apple i found the op sys on kickass torrents and have that downloaded and ready to put on a thumb drive so that i can load it into the mac, My problem is i have an 8 gig thumb drive the dmg file is only 5.62 gigs but i keep getting a prompt saying not enough space on the disk can anyone help me understand this or direct me as to how to make it fit, please any help is appreciated
