I got duped by a fake java update virus/spam and did a system restore. Now its telling me there are no connections available to connect to a network and when I try to trouble shoot it tells me an unexpected error occurred. Using a HP pavilion laptop with windows 7. Any help is appreciated.

You could try booting to Safe Mode and running an antimalware program like Malwarebytes and your antivirus, running SFC, going back to an earlier date with System Restore, etc.  However if I had this situation with no backup, I'd back up any data I didn't want to lose and restore to factory settings.

Everyone with a computer should back his system up to an external hard drive regularly.
