I would like to remove IE from XP Pro, but I need it to download from windowsupdate. Is it possible to make Mozilla Firefox download from windowsupdate?

No. Microsoft uses ActiveX for the update process and Firefox does not use ActiveX.

yah. and the dumb thing is....

why in the heck did they ever come up with the most stupid thing of all!!!

intergrate IE with the file manager...

if they seperated them in the first place we wouldnt have as much holes and stuff would run lots faster!

microsoft needs to get a clue and ditch longhorn too.

Alas! Because MS made Internet Explorer a part of the Windows operating system you are stuck with it, and stuck with keeping it patched. Natually, the auto update pages only work with IE or it's clones; however, you can download the patches using FF from MS's download site.
Cheers,
John
