After discovering I had a UNVALID version of XP Pro (unable to get service packs), and being frowned upon by the powers that be...

Aquired a VALID version of XP Pro (EXPENSIVE) and downloaded SP2..

I also installed PC-Cillin 2006, which comes with a firewall of it's own..should I run the XP firewall, or PC-Cillin's?
Also, now that I have SP2, I have "Windows Security Alerts" icon in my system tray, which constantly tells me my auto update is off...annoying..can I get rid of that?

Still working on the CPU and RAM issue (pentium II @ 360 / 256 RAM)...I know, like running a VW at the Indy track...but system has actually seemed to speed up since new XP / SP2 install.

Thanks Ya'll

We were not trying to beat you up. We were just being honest. Glad to see everything is coming together.
If you want to put a turbo on that VW check out this site..
PowerLeap

I have 4 computers running the 1.4Ghz. That is for PC100. If you have PC66 you will be limited to 950Mhz with that 1.4Ghz chip. Anyways I thought you may be interested.

Understood, but I don't want to give the impression that I'm stealing software...I thought it was legitimate..

Looking into another Motherboard/CPU (get this VW on the track)...

Thanks for the reply

It's all good. It happens from time to time. I saw on eBay a P-III 600 Mhz w\XP home for $70 shipped.
