Hi,

My first post. If this is the wrong subforum, then please redirect me.

My laptop has a slider key/button on the front that turns the Wireless capabilities on or off. Somehow, it got switched off, and sliding it won't turn it on. I'm left with a computer that cannot connect to the net.

Is there any way to turn on the wireless capability internally?

If you need more info about the laptop or anything else, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please post the brand and model of the laptop.

In many machines the button for the wireless isn't an actual "switch" it only sends a signal intercepted by some software installed if the software is missing or not working the switch will fail.

Hi,

Download and install or reinstall the HP Wireless Assistant

If it doesn't work please post the exact model you have, should be written on the back of the laptop or under the battery. Usually the model have some more letters besides the tx1000 reference.
