HI

I have a question about the Vista Registry: How do I disable the "Windows Has Blocked Some Startup Programs" balloon appearing when MSConfig starts up by using only the Vista Registry?

I have searched the internet for an answer and the only solution I have found so far is a Registry fix, hack or tweak that disables MSConfig

from appearing completely, which I do not want!

So, I hope someone can provide me an answer or link to this problem and I thank you in advance for your patience in this matter.

Hi Animal

Thanks for your quick reply.

But, please excuse me from 'saying' this, that is not a Registry fix, hack or tweak.

Also, I have already visited howtogeek website and I do know about that method.

Am really 'looking' for a Registry fix, hack or tweak & have come close after doing

a lot of searching online.

But, of course, for now, am getting a bit fed up of searching.

Thank you again

Why do you want to mess with the registry if you don't have to? That seems high risk for little reward and counter-intuitive in my opinion. Good luck with your search, even though you're fed up. But then again that could be because there isn't a safe registry tweak out there.

Hi Animal

Thanks again for your quick reply.

But even though you cannot help

by providing an answer or link I am

asking you to allow me permission

to 'do' something:

if it's okay with you I would like to

leave this post open for at least

3 days just incase someone else

reads it and wants to answer?

After that you have my permission

to close it!

Thank you again

Have you even identified the program(s) that are causing the problem? If not, the link below will

tell you how to do that. After doing that you may even decide just to uninstall the program.

Error message when you start a Windows Vista-based computer: "Windows has blocked some startup programs"

Malware could be the culprit. If you don't recognize the program(s) that Windows is blocking then

you need to do some scanning with security programs.

This will disable ALL balloon tips so I don't know if this is what you are looking for.

Hi buddy215 and JohnC_21

Thank you both for your quick replies.

First I will answer buddy215 and then

JohnC_21.

buddy215:

have clicked the link that you provided

and I will also try the methods shown to

'see' if that will 'fix' the problem.

Also, please excuse me 'saying' this: I

am an intermediate user and I do not

need to be told about using programs

to scan for malware. This is because I

use some of the best freeware programs

available for that purpose. I also use the

Comodo Firewall, which after recent tests

has become the best one to use at this

present time.

Thank you, again, for your advice.

JohnC_1:

I do know about that Registry fix, hack or

tweak. But I only want the fix, hack or tweak

to disable the "Windows Has Blocked Some

Startup Programs" balloon appearing when

MSConfig starts up!

Thank you, again also, for your advice.

Anyway, will now end this message as it's now

time for bed (12.07pm or 7 minutes after

midnight in Scotland)!

Goodnight to you both & hope that you both

sleep well.
