gheller has been my username since 1994, but someone alread took it here, so I went with gaheller.  I've been working with computers since the 80s, but am sorely out of date.  Anyone need help with really old hardware or software, I'm the one to ask.  I program in python for a living, and have also used C# and C++, am learning javascript for a game I'm writing with my wife, so I'm good for programming questions.  I've done some virus removal in the past, successfully, but recently I've found myself completely outclassed by a virus or malware or both infecting an old computer that I need for editing a film I started years ago.  I found a number of answers on this forum that seemed to help somewhat, but now I'm stuck so I thought I'd post my specific problem and see if I can get a more specific answer.  See you on the problems forum!
