Hello, I recently used Adwcleaner's latest version to check my computer for anything after I had done a system restore. It found something and I rebooted, but unfortunately I found out after I did the clean that my system had removed the System Restore Point for some reason. I do not use File History unfortunately either. However after I went into task scheduler after the entry intrigued me, the program complains at me saying that 'the current task 'proxy' does not exist, please press refresh to see the current tasks'. I click Refresh. Comes up again. Guess Adwcleaner did something that deleted the Autochk/Proxy task. And I can't undo it.

Here is my log:

Anyone know anyway to fix it? I'm considering updating to 8.1 tomorrow morning to see if that fixes the deleted tasks caused by Adwcleaner.

Let's rebuild the acproxy.

Click on the Start button, then type cmd.

cmd[/b will appear under Programs, right click on it and choose Run as administrator.

When the elevated command prompt opens type in regsvr32 /u acproxy.dll, then press Enter.

Then type in [b] regsvr32 /i acproxy.dll, then press Enter.

Type exit to close the command prompt, then restart your computer.
