Hullo, not sure that this oughtn't be in the external hardware forum, but my guess is it's slightly more applicable here.
So, I built a new desktop PC, and used a system image to bring all my stuff over to the new PC.  My laptop, where my system image came from, was a Dell Inspiron n7010 running Windows 7.  It had an Intel motherboard and loads of Intel drivers.  My new PC is an Asus, with AMD drivers.  I've made it so everything now runs smoothly and perfectly, with the exception of the internet.
I've a Rosewill wireless N adapter RNX-N150UBE which was meant to be used for the internet. This PC is situated directly adjacent to the old laptop which I'm using to type this, and the new PC sees no network.  Here's what I've done so far (and this problem has been extant between every action):
Installed everything as per instructions.
Used flash drive to install latest drivers off the Rosewill site, at which point I'd two copies of the 11n USB wireless LAN utility.
Uninstalled both copies and reïnstalled the one off the disc.
Uninstalled the one from the disc and reïnstalled the one off the web-site.
Noticed that there were still some Intel drivers (Intel My WiFi Utility, for one) and an Atheros ethernet driver leftover from the laptop; uninstalled them with Revo Uninstaller and CCleaner.
Uninstalled 11n USB wireless LAN utility and reïnstalled it from the web-site.
Noticed Intel WiMAX is still present, and it refuses to uninstall.
That's it.  Please note that every instance of installing the drivers includes a restart, and an immense amount of googling has taken place this week.  And my attempts to uninstall the Intel wifi drivers were chiefly in hopes that there'd been a conflict between my new ones and the old ones, which on being resolved would rectify the problem, but it was only a guess and is not something I care about unless it is indeed the source of the problem (or any problem in general).
Thanks in advance for any help.

New PC (the one with the problem):
CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor.
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard.
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory.
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive.
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card.
Case: Corsair SPEC-03 Red ATX Mid Tower Case.
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply.
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer.
Wireless Network Adapter: Rosewill RNX-N150UBE 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 Wi-Fi Adapter.
OS:  Windows 7, from the system image of the Dell Inspiron n7010 laptop described above.

Edit:
Sorry, lads.  I read the wrong forum's pinned post and didn't know I needed to post the MiniToolBox result.  Here it is:

**** End of log ****

I'm working on finding the make and model of my router, but I know it's a Netgear.  The modem is cable.  I'd say it's only a few metres away from my PC, but the router and modem are on the floor above my PC.

I haven't seen the problems you mention but I'll take a stab at a couple of ideas

On your image install from the older laptop to your newly built desktop PC, was it done with a program that installs onto dissimilar hardware?

--- Once that was done, was the computer running fine including hard wired internet connection with the AMD motherboard network adapter before you got into uninstalling Intel drivers

--- Maybe disabling the Intel ones would have been a better idea but whichever system (Intel or AMD) would have worked I believe I would have worked with at that time

--- On the Intel WiMax that doesn't uninstall, it's probably looking for the associated Intel drivers it needs to work with and that could be a sign of interfering with the USB Rosewill wireless N adapter

--- Then installing the Rosewill wireless N USB adapter could take place

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I used a Windows recovery disc, then FixHDC off a Hiren's BootCD in Mini XP, then in safe mode I began installing drivers off the respective hardware components' discs, and made sure to remove all Intel ones I could find during that time.  Not sure how'd I miss the wi-fi ones.  So, essentially I did all this manually.  Which impressed me as it's my first time, but absolutely may have been done incorrectly.
--- I'm not precisely certain of the meaning on your second question but I think you're asking did it work with an ethernet cable.  The drivers are there but I haven't tried that as I'd have to carry the whole bloody thing upstairs.  If it's necessary I'll do it, but that's why I haven't.  That, and I never questioned that that would work, just rather assumed it would.  But maybe the problem's there after all.
--- Maybe you're right, though I didn't do that till the adapter wouldn't connect (unless you mean the video, chipset, &c., but they only caused Windows not to boot on the new machine, so that wouldn't be viable).

--- Maybe you're right.  Google hasn't been much help there as yet.  I'll keep looking.  It says I haven't access.  I've tried uninstalling as Administrator as well.
--- Can't wait to get to that bit!
The software's just generally buggy as well.  Sometimes when I open it it displays something like what you'd see if you clicked About on a Help menu, and it takes up the whole window and only restarting the computer has fixed it.  This is on both versions of the 11n USB software, off the disc as well as the site.
Thanks.

Boy I know what you mean about having to carry the tower upstairs. I have done that I don't know how may times.

Anyway I do believe it is possible to install a wireless USB adapter in a wireless setting as you have done without any problems as I have done that myself but when there's a time period of frustration I usually start over and get back to the basics

Google is fine but there's nothing like hands on experience

I do not think I would have been able to do so much of all that you were able to do

Restoring system images to dissimilar hardware can be problematic as you no doubt know by now. I agree with cmptrgy that your problem is the Intel Wifi. There are probably registry entries still in the system hive regarding your wifi drivers. Something that Revo Uninstaller could not clean.

In your Minitools log.

Error: (06/07/2014 10:40:23 PM) (Source: Service Control Manager) (User: )
Description: The Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Red Bend Device Management Service service hung on starting.

Description: Product: Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software -- Error 1921.Service Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Red Bend Device Management Service (DMAgent) could not be stopped.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services.

You might have luck running AutoRuns and looking under the Services and Drivers tabs. This will let you disable anything related to Intel WiMAX.

On another note: Is the router broadcasting SSID? If SSID is disabled, you will not detect any network.

Thanks very much.  I'll try AutoRuns now.  An SSID is simply a network yes?  If not, please educate me because that would be a lovely problem to have.  But if it's simply the network, that's how I'm typing this, connected with my laptop to the network I'd like to have my new PC connect to.

If you have a wireless router, there is a setting called SSID broadcast. Sometimes a person will disable it thinking it will increase security which it does not and forget about it. If SSID broadcast is disabled in the router, the wireless card will not detect the network. But, I believe in your case it is enabled unless you remember that you disabled it in the Router settings.

I doubt I did disable it.  People have picked up wi-fi here as recently as yesterday.  I'm not sure how to get into the settings, so if this means that it's broadcasting SSID I won't bother.  My mother had to enter the password when she did the wi-fi, which leads me to believe it was the first time she'd used it, which I presume means the router's broadcasting SSID.  Is all that correct?

Yes, If other people can pick up on your network, SSID broadcast is enabled.

Edit: So basically, if you get the adapter to work, you will see the network and input the password for the Wifi.

All right, I'm in AutoRuns and I've located the drivers I'd like to delete.  It's brought me to the registry editor, and sorry to be a bother but it's a bit daunting.  I'm not sure what to do.

I would not delete them yet. All you have to do is uncheck the box and that will disable the drivers or services, not delete them which is what you want to do until you are absolutely sure those are the ones to delete. If you wish to delete them, you highlight the ones you wish to delete and select the delete button.

So, you're saying that in AutoRuns any box I untick will simply cease to function until I've ticked it again?  because if you are saying that, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Yes that is correct. From the AutoRuns website.

Edit: I should note that I have not done this to disable services or drivers but I would think that this would be the case for them also.

To disable an auto-start entry uncheck its check box. To delete an auto-start configuration entry use the Delete menu item or toolbar button.

I'll certainly thank you for introducing me such a valuable tool, but I've still no internet access as yet.  I restarted, and I may have missed a couple Intel ones, but otherwise they reticked themselves on restarting.

I am out of ideas on this one. It's possible the card is bad but I doubt it. I think something like this will be hard to track down and fix. Hopefully other people on the Forum can lend their thoughts to your problem.

Edit: I would think the boxes would stayed unchecked after boot.  When you start Autoruns, Right click the exe file and select "Run as Administrator".

You can also Right Click Computer, select Manage and in Services, disable any Services related to Intel Wifi. Doing this should keep the service disabled.
