Hi All,

Am I suppose to be able to run Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) from Windows 7 safe  mode?

JRT should run in safe mode but there is no need to do so unless you cannot run the tool in normal mode.

The reason I asked is that I came across a computer (w7 home Premium 64 bit) were it would not run in safe mode.  It ran fine in normal mode.  I am suspicious that something else is going on.

Then you should start a new topic in the Am I infected? What do I do? forum or follow the instructions provided in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide starting at Step 6.
  • If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
  • In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running DDS which will create two logs. (Note: Windows 8.1 Users will not be able run DDS and create a log)
When you have done that, post your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.

NOT here

Actually, all I was after was confirmation on JRT and safe mode.  The rest was just me making conversation.

In that case, you can ask the developer (thisisu), report an issue or suggestion in this topic which he monitors for issues with JRT.

Hi Quietman7,

Great link/thread.  I have already posted something to it and will be monitoring the thread.  Thank you!

Request for Enhancement:

May we please have a command line switch to "not" check for updates?  (I have come across an infection that attacks your download process.)

Many thanks,

-T

By the way, you revisions are messed up:  version 7.5.1 (07.16.2015:1) showing on http://thisisudax.org/ is actually version 7.5.4 (07.31.2015).  Did you forget to change the revisions inside the code?
