It appears that my PC has crashed, but i'm not sure. The only thing I can use on it is "command prompt" or I can get to a boot screen. But, then with either of those, then i'm not sure how or if they can help me? If someone WAY pc smarter than me can help me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Isabel5

So im gathering you can start in safemode? if so goto run and type msconfig then goto startup tab and untick everything (Eliminate startup issues). Press apply and OK then navigate to the Boot tab and tick OS Boot Information. Click apply & OK and then restart the machine.

Now when it starts watch the computer when it starts loading the sys files. it should then goto the disk checking screen

Let me know if that does anything.

What kind of specifications does your computer have,ie make, model.

You may have to re install the computer,do you have an install cd or usb?

Also did you back up your personal files?

What happend when you try to access Safe Mode?

Yeh so the command prompt is that in the repair startup mode? If so you could try (I think it works in repair mode) running these commands.

diskpart, then when it starts the console session issue the command "list disk". They should all say online.

When I press f8 repeatedly, it comes up with windows 7 on top, search f8 in the middle and windows diagnostics on the bottom. But when I try to tab the middle it automatically goes to the bottom??
