Ok, I made a really stupid decision. I was having issues with my monitor until eventually, the taskbar and all icons disappeared and the only thing left was my wallpaper. My cursor went offscreen. So I right clicked, selected properties, and nothing happened. Then I realized that the window opened offscreen and after a while of clicking and dragging, I brought it up and started trying options to make it work.

Nothing worked.

Then I saw a checkbox "Extend Desktop To Monitor", unchecked it and clicked apply. Then I realized what I had done, and it was a bad decision because my laptop screen is completely broken, and I cannot use my monitor.

What do I do?

Have you tried turning your laptop off and back on?

Thanks,

Darktune

Okay,

Can I ask.. what Is the make and model of your laptop?

On your laptop keyboard above your numbers you will have F1-F12.

These may have images on them such as an image which described increase volume/decrease volume.

Does your keyboard have these images?

Thanks,

Darktune

I have a Dell Latitude D820 with up to F12, and buttons designated for increasing/decreasing volume.

It does have images on the f1-f12.

Not sure, I'll check when I get back to my house as I'm using a computer at school.

I just googled pictures of it's keyboard, here's a picture. Note the image under F7, do you mean like that?

I found a manual for your laptop online which states;

<Fn><F8> Switches the video image to the next display option. The options include the integrated display, an external monitor, and both

displays simultaneously.

This sounds like your problem.

Thanks,
