That's exactly the way I prefer having the tabs load, in addition to having them located at the bottom.

I really didn't like the new Australis layout of FF 29.X, so I installed this nice little plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/  now my UI is back to the way I prefer.

I never make the same mistake twice....I always make it 5 or 6 times just to be sure!

....yes...Condo is smiling...all in the world is calm....

And the Tabs on Bottom......I use this.. (Tabs On Bottom 0.5)

also allows you to open a new tab by double clicking in on a blank area of the tab bar.

if you are truly lost....not having the little x to click on to close a tab......

type      about:config    in the address bar.......(agree to be careful...)

type     close     in the search field    it should bring        browser.tabs.closeButtons   with a value of 2     to the top....

Right click on the line, and Modify the value to a 1

therefore :  browser.tabs.closeButtons;2     will become browser.tabs.closeButtons;1

....and you will have the x back !

Try the "Tab Mix Plus" plugin, I use it... do this and a hell of a lot more.
