Hello !

Yesterday I opened add/remove to get rid of some programs that I don't use.

I deleted Office 2003 not knowing that I was deleting Outlook mail along with office.

I now only have Outlook express. I tried system restore but my system restore will not work. It may be because I am low on memory.

I went to the Microsoft download site looking for Office 2003 but I do not see it.

Any help would be appreciated ! Maybe a link where I could download it ???

Thanks,

Dennis

As of April 8th, 2014 Windows XP and Office 2003 are both obsolete. :(

--edit--

Looks like you can still buy it on eBay.

Are you trying to recover your Outlook emails? This can only work if the uninstall of Office did not remove your Outlook PST file.

It could be located at

My Documents\Outlook Files or

Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

I had about 100 e- mails stored, many had pictures. Some may ask, "did you not have them backed up" ?)

Nope, I am too dumb to have had them backed up.  :(

I tried under My Documents and did not see a file.

I am having trouble with your second option. I do not see the  Documents and Settings option. ???

Dennis  :)

Edit: It was Office 2007 that I  erased.

You can download Microsoft Office 2007 direct from Digital River. It won't work without your Office 2007 Product Key though.

As far as your PST file goes, click the Start orb, type in outlook.pst and see if it finds it.

Doubleclick My Computer. Documents and Settings in in the root of the C drive.  You should also be able to find it using SpywareDoctor's suggestion if it is still on the drive.

The computer is searching for the files. 45 minutes and the dog is still wagging his tail. Hopefully he will sniff them out.

My brother-in-law gave me this computer when mine conked out. I do not recall him giving me any of the Cd's that go with it.

I am sure he has them which would include the product key. Trouble is he is in Florida for a couple of months. (1500 miles)

I found my copy of Office 2003 with the product key. Does Office 2003 come with Outlook ?

I downloaded and installed Office Standard 2007.

I clicked on Outlook and it had imported all of my e-mails. I am back where I started except for the product key problem

A window opened after I clicked on continue on the window asking for the product key.

It said I can use Office for a limited amount of time. Hopefully I will have the key number before they cut me off.

Thanks for the help SpyWare Doctor and JohnC_21 !

Dennis :)

Edit: Search is still searching. I am going to let it run just to see if it comes up with the files.

Glad you got your emails back.

Just to let you know, you can export all of your Outlook emails to Outlook express.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/import-your-messages-or-account-from-outlook-to-outlook-express-HA001094388.aspx

Its for Outlook  2003 but should work for 2007

If that does not work, you can the following method. This will let you export to Windows Live Mail

Here are some links

Thanks for the links John.

Just to let you know the search feature did not find anything. (e-mails)

I will see how it goes without the product key for Office 2007. If I have trouble before I can get the key I will install Office 2003 which I have the key for.

Dennis :)
