We paid the ransom yesterday within the proper time frame for cryptolocker but were not given a decryption key.

There is still no key; and still no contact

The links for "help" do not work.

A repository of all current knowledge regarding Cryptolocker is provided by Grinler (aka Lawrence Abrams), in this tutorial: CryptoLocker Ransomware Information Guide and FAQ

Reading that Guide will help you understand what CryptoLocker Ransomware does and provide information for how to deal with it...including prevention, and possibly recover your files.

There is also a lengthy ongoing discussion in this topic: Cryptolocker Hijack Program. Since this infection is so widespread, rather than have everyone start individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any questions, comments or requests for assistance in that topic discussion.

Thanks

Thank you for that.  I will move my comments to the other topic.

We had already gone through the Cryptolocker Info Guide and FAQ kindly provided by Lawrence Abrams; all of it, to no avail.  I have a photo of our computer  screen but, with apologies, could not find the correct button on your dashboard with which to upload it ("My Media" above, said I had no media) :-)

We would like to say how tremendously helpful we have found your website.  Usually our grand-son helps us with our computer issues but he is currently finishing his first year University exams and we did not want to stress him with the Cryptolocker time frame.

Many thanks.
