I have two ssd`s one running win 8.1 and I want to run xp on the other ssd because I have an old game that I just love and it wont noway run on 8.1 or 7.

The game is Empires dawn of the modern world. Sad aint it. :hysterical:

I used to do this easily with 7 but am not sure with 8.1 new bios eufi thingy.

I have an i7 Asus z87 k board with a quad 4770k cpu and 16gb ram with a asus gtx750 gfx card.

I can get the game to load and start the intro but the mouse freezes. so hence the need for xp.

I have tried compatability modes with 8,7,vista,xp sp2,sp3 all the same mouse freezing yet it plays on a windows 8 pc but not on a 7.

How do I setup this dual boot as I was always told the oldest OS first?

THX in advance any directions welcome.

Hopefully you get it working.

In the meantime, why not add your voice here?

Others are trying to get GOG to upload it, and GOG generally allows support for 7 and 8. I have gotten some DOS games from them that work fine on 8.1 with GOG's emulators.

Thanks Netghost56

You steered me into the right direction and what with a couple of bits of reading and playing around found the way to make the game work on windows 8.1 64bit
