Are you talking about Windows Live Essentials, which

include Windows Live Messenger, Mail, Writer, Photo Gallery, Family Safety, Toolbar, and Movie Maker

If so, none of them are necessary for using Windows 7 or any other version of Windows.

The Windows Live programs you don't use can be safely uninstalled.

2 of the computers in my house don't have any of the Windows Live Essentials components installed-both computers function perfectly.

Queen do I go to windows programs to uninstall? Is Windows Live and the group of programs a memory or processor hog?

I can't answer your question about memory or process hog.

To uninstall, Control Panel/Programs and Features.

When it finishes loading scroll down to Windows Essentials (there may be a year next to it), click to bring up the uninstaller.

Next choose the Remove option.

Check the box next to the components you want to remove, then click Uninstall.

Hello! I find the Windows Live Mail to be very useful, which is apart of Windows Live Essentials.

As Queen-Evie suggests, it is not necessary to run windows!
