Hi All -

The infection was on another drive on an old PC and was removed before the old PC went to PC heaven, Info as shown.

"File is encrypted

This file can be decrypted using the program DirtyDecrypt.exe

Press CTRL+ALT+D to run DirtyDecrypt.exe

If DirtyDecrypt.exe not opened сheck the paths:

C:\Program Files\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe

C:\Users[YOUR USER]\AppData\Roaming\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe

C:\Documents and Settings[YOUR USER]\Application Data\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe

C:\Documents and Settings[YOUR USER]\Local Settings\Application Data\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe"

I then bought a new HP PC running Win 8.1

I have now added as an external drive the drive from the old PC to the new PC so I could pick up old files needed

How can I restore the original files where this virus is wrapped around  ?

Have tried to delete the files from the external hard drive but I need revised permissions and despite all efforts to change them, no luck so I cant even delete them at the moment.

Whoever thought up this virus should be shot at dawn !!

Any ideas as to recovery or deletion as they are taking a few MB up ??

Many thanks
